My name is Grayson Gilbert and I live in South-Eastern Wisconsin with my beautiful wife and three children. I recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biblical studies and am currently enrolled for the MDiv. My desire is to become a pastor, Lord willing, and faithfully serve in that role. I firmly believe that theology matters – it practically forms how you live out your faith. For that reason, I am pushed forward by the constant desire for the continual renewal of my mind so that I may think rightly upon the Lord and His precepts. Beyond this, I believe that it is only through the renewal of one’s mind that we are able to find true repentance on not merely the outward fruit, but the heart motives.
Thereby, the Christian is called to persevere in the grace afforded to us through Christ Jesus. Man does not earn merit toward salvation through works, but as James would say, our works express outwardly what has transpired inwardly through that saving grace.
Admittedly, I did not come up with the name to this blog (my clever wife did) nor the catchphrase underneath it – but I shamelessly stole them. I hope that you enjoy my musings, and thank you for taking the time to stop by!
